Business of the Year Awards

It was a great night at the 2nd Annual Chamber of Commerce Awards Dinner. Those who attended won't soon forget the spirited remarks and the thrill of the award announcements.

ASCC's Ukulele Ensemble serenaded us as we gathered. Old friends greeted one another. By the time the governor arrived, everyone was in a fine mood. The night had electricity.

130 people including Governor Togiola Tulafono and First Lady Maryann and Nikolao Pula of the Office of Insular Affairs all sat through the evening smiling, laughing, eating and drinking. Many stayed long beyond the end of the program to visit with neighbors.

It was that kind of night.

Congratulations to all of our winners: Long time businessman, Andy Forsgren received the business person of the year award. New business of the year award went to Carl’s Jr. restaurant. The American Samoa Hawai’i Cable (ASH-Cable) received the Support of Business Development Award, which was accepted by ASH-Cable president Adolfo Montenegro. Community Business Support award went to Tool Shop Inc., owned by Peter Crispin, whose daughter Dylan Ewing accepted the award. Island Energy & Marine is the recipient of the Green Business Award . Young Business person of the Year went to Tuai Auva’a of All Star Signs.
