ABOUT THE CHAMBER

The Chamber of Commerce of American Samoa is an organization incorporated since 1979. It serves as an open forum in which members may raise and address specific issues and it serves as a voice for the local business community in it’s relationship and dealings with all levels of government.

The Chamber concerns itself with common objectives and problems affecting local business and it seeks to contribute to and assist with the formulation of government policies that will lead to new investments and developments which will stimulate the local economy.

The Chamber has regular contact with overseas Chambers and regional business councils in order to keep abreast of economic developments and to provide it’s members with information and access to new markets for their products and services.

The Chamber has close ties with all major government departments such as Commerce, Education and Health, and it’s Executive meets regularly with the Governor, the Senate and the House of Representatives to discuss matters of economic interest and policy formulation which will benefit the Territory’s economy and the Chamber’s membership.

The Executive Board of the Chamber meets monthly and member’s lunch meetings with a guest speaker are also held monthly. Membership is open to any person or corporation with a valid business license.
